Easy Tacos for the New Year

After a hiatus, Cook Along Live is back with one of my favorite things to make: tacos! This live stream is more to get back into the groove after my time away from the show, as well as a quick and fun way to start out the new year. Happy 2023!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1/2 White Onion
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 8 oz Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 1 head Romaine Lettuce shredded
  • 1 oz Taco Seasoning of Your Choice
  • ¾ cup Water
  • 12 Hard or Soft Taco Shells

Optional and Tasty

  • Taco Sauce
  • Salsa home made, if possible
  • Guacamole home made, if possible

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat your oven to 350°F.
  • Add some oil to a pan and sweat off the onions until slightly translucent. Add the garlic and cook gently for a minute or two until fragrant. Do not brown or burn the garlic. Remove from the pan and set on a plate to rest.
  • Crumble the ground beef into the pan and cook until well browned. Add the onions and garlic back to the pan then stir in the taco seasoning to incorporate. Cook for around one minute and then stir in the water.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer and stir every few minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  • While simmering, shred your cheese and lettuce.
  • Set hard taco shells in the oven for 3-5 minutes until warmed, then fill with meat and desired toppings and serve!
